tVB 40: 1 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: HOW TO BECOME AN EFFECTIVE CHURCH WORKER

Serving in the Helps Ministry
is giving a hand of service towards the fulfillment of your Pastor's God-given vision. And being effective makes you relevant. It makes your leader consider a job "well done" just because it was committed to you. Through your service, a public image or impression is also created of your church family to the outside world.

To be 'Effective' is to be, 'Efficient, able, capable…etc'. It is the definition of your results. Effective people impact the lives of others positively. It was the transportation that drove Joseph into political prominence in ancient Egypt. It is God's tool for touching and blessing others. However, effectiveness is a product of character and not a spiritual gift. Let's consider some qualities of an effective church worker.

WALKS IN LOVE

Practicing strife, hatred, jealousy, envy, murmuring, grumbling, complaining and every other vice is an exercise in self-reduction. Walking in love, however is a sensible act of self-preservation.

UNDERSTANDS THE IMPORTANCE OF HIS/HER DUTIES

A lady applied to be admitted into a certain church's Intercessory Group. On her reason for joining she said, “Joining will help me develop my personal prayer life.” The panel replied, "Then you don't need to join the Prayer Department. Faithfully attend the church's prayer services, and your personal prayer life will be developed!" Getting involved in service should be for the purpose of occupying a duty post to assist the Pastor in fulfilling his God-given Vision.

DOES A THOROUGH JOB

There are times when it's only by going the extra mile that the desired results can be achieved. The world has no doubt that your Jesus saves, but they need to see how His indwelling presence can make a practical difference in their lives on a daily basis. So, whatever you do in God's house, do a thorough job!

COMPLEMENTS THE TEAM, INSTEAD OF COMPETING WITH TEAM MEMBERS!

Some serve to "out-shine" others. No form of service in God's House is inferior to the other. Some may be more prominent, but they are definitely not more important. Each has its specific assignments and purpose in the lives of church members.

RESPECTS THE ANOINTING

The Anointing is the burden-removing, yoke-destroying, ability-inducing Power of the Holy Spirit. Thus, disrespecting the Anointing is a very dangerous attitude. Avoid it!

SEEKS AND FOLLOWS THE HOLY SPIRIT'S LEADING

Jesus did only what He saw His Father doing (John 5vI9). Can you succeed by doing less? The truth is, the Holy Spirit is the Lord of the Harvest. Things will fall out line if you relegate Him to the background in your spiritual service.

Beloved, no matter how much has already been achieved, you can still attain greater heights. Make that quality decision to be effective in your spiritual service today. Be effective. Be the 'plus factor'!

TVB 51: 2 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: THE COLT

"And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him." Luke 19:29-31 Has it ever occurred to you that you may possess certain qualities that the Lord needs? There is a service gift within you which is vital and necessary for many people to contact their destinies – if only you put it to work! This gift positions you to be used by God. Many have heard a lot about the end-time move of God. My concern here is with God’s ministers who occupy the pews. You are also God’s flame and you play a vital role in God’s end-time move by reason of the duties you fulfill within your departments in your church. God wants to pour out H...

tVB 36: 2 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: CHURCH WORK & TEAM BUILDING LeadersTalk

"Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose. Luke 6:12-13 NKJV The Lord Jesus is our example in teamTbuilding. This was one of the very first things he did in ministry. You must realize that He had quite a large number of followers, but a time came when he handpicked disciples. In other words, he raised and built a team. Now, building and maintaining effective church workers' teams is a time consuming and sensitive process particularly in ministry where the pressures of the moment are often intense. Most attempts at ministry team building don't work well, simply because leaders and workers fail to appreciate the effort that has to be invested in time and attention to detail. The truth is, when done well, teamwork contributes considerably to greatly improved productivity and reduced costs in the local assembly. R...

tVB 1:2 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: THE HELPS MINISTRY WORKERSTalk

Did I hear you say , “I can rest in the pew and dream of heaven. My Pastor is superhuman… he knows everything… can do everything. After all he’s ‘anointed’. He’s perfect. He must be an angel. And he’s ….” Bla bla bla… When you closely examine Acts 6:1-4, you see there a crisis situation in the Church at Jerusalem, despite the revival and daily addition to the membership that they were experiencing! The truth is, revival and church growth also bring along potential for problems. As revival rose in Jerusalem, work load mounted and for once the anointed apostles of the Lamb could not cope. They could be efficient in serving tables daily, except at the expense of their primary call and God-given vision of prayer and the ministry of the word of God. They called a meeting and told the congregation, “Folks, we need your help with the daily ministrations and the serving of tables.” CHURCH MEMBERS …EMPOWERED HELPERS! Church members form the ministry of Helps. You are to assist your Pas...
