tVB 29: 4 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: CREATED FOR HIS PURPOSE, SENT ON A MISSION!

One quality of every Visioneer
is the frequency of the question, “How can I solve this problem?” Problems demand solutions, else they remain. Creation was God's means of solving a problem. From the Atomic bomb to the Dress Zipper, the automobile and the pencil eraser, every single thing in physical existence today is a product of a Purpose. Creation, manufacture, production, call it whatever you wish, is necessitated by a need to solve a problem.

You came into existence the moment God conceived you in His thoughts. Jeremiah 1:5 said, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were formed I sanctified you: I ordained you”. (Jeremiah 1:5)

It is thus very appropriate to say that you are alive for a purpose. God had a motive in mind when He conceived you. He wanted a solution to a problem so He created you.

Now, men live and die with time, but he who finds and fulfills purpose never dies in principle. His imprint abides continually. You are not alive because you were "luckily" rescued when your mother dumped you. Even if you had been thrown into the sea, God would have still found a way to preserve you because you were created for a purpose. In addition, you are not a member of that church by an accident. There is a call upon your life. God planted you there for a reason. There is a grace upon your life to achieve certain results for the benefit of your Pastor and your home church. Seek God to reveal to you His Purpose for your membership in that church, if you don't know it yet.

There are certain attitudes that can help you begin to discover God's purpose for locating you in your home church:

Worship

In Judges chapter 16, Delilah was on a mission to find the secret of Samson's strength. So she went 'to work' on Samson, as it were, adoring him, telling him of his promise of love and just being nice to him. Eventually Samson revealed the secret of his strength. I consider her actions as more or less worship. How else would you know what's on a person's mind without spending quality time and giving undivided attention to that person? If that's not worship, what is it?

When you worship God in act [quality time] and in lifestyle [undivided attention] He comes and reveals Himself. In revealing Himself you see your place in His mind and plans. God wants you more than any service you can offer. According to A. W. Tozer, “God wants worshippers before workers; indeed the only acceptable workers are those who have learned the lost art of worship”.

Bloom Where You're Planted

You've got to let God plant you somewhere and then bear fruit where you are planted. Hold church membership where God directs. While many do so, you cannot just decide which church family to belong to based on fleshly, social or marital considerations.

Jesus, the Chief Shepherd, is the one who plants each of us in our own vineyards according to His will. Through the workings of the Holy Spirit, He orchestrates circumstances in our lives to bring us into our green pastures. Church membership cannot be based upon distance from your home and office, or on how many of your friends already hold membership in that church.

It does not matter where you are or how you got there. You can bloom there if you seek opportunities to be a blessing.

Accept Your Individuality

You are unique, and that’s not a cliche. It’s truth!  I enjoy what I'm doing and being who I am. I'm living in what I know is God's purpose for me. Is your life presently expressing what you know as God's purpose for you?

Your purpose is unique and specific. No one else can fulfill it. You need to make the time of your creation worth God's while. Give Him value for time spent conceiving and creating you. You were made for His pleasure. You have potential to make God happy, and He’s joyful when He sees you doing what He created you for.

When you do this, then you'll really begin to know satisfaction and fulfilment.

HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: YOU ARE NEEDED!

“And he told the crowd to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish. He looked up toward heaven and blessed the food. Then he broke the bread and handed it to the disciples, and they gave it to the people.”   Matthew 14 v 19 (CEV) A little portion from VISION BUILDERS' “Understanding The Helps Ministry” Manual reads; “Had Jesus never appointed people to work with him, would we have anything left of the ministry of Jesus today? Had Paul never had men and women work with him, would we have had anything left of the ministry of Paul today?” It is amazing to us how this particular message, in both the manual and audio forms have blessed so many lives. After attending one of our seminars, this particular Pastor said to me, “Please come and tell my people 'You are important!' Everybody wants to know that he or she is important, and that they are vital for certain things to move smoothly. Even nature attests to this. Scientists say plants are sensitive...

tVB 40: 1 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: HOW TO BECOME AN EFFECTIVE CHURCH WORKER

Serving in the Helps Ministry is giving a hand of service towards the fulfillment of your Pastor's God-given vision. And being effective makes you relevant. It makes your leader consider a job "well done" just because it was committed to you. Through your service, a public image or impression is also created of your church family to the outside world . To be 'Effective' is to be, 'Efficient, able, capable…etc'. It is the definition of your results. Effective people impact the lives of others positively. It was the transportation that drove Joseph into political prominence in ancient Egypt. It is God's tool for touching and blessing others. However, effectiveness is a product of character and not a spiritual gift. Let's consider some qualities of an effective church worker. WALKS IN LOVE Practicing strife, hatred, jealousy, envy, murmuring, grumbling, complaining and every other vice is an exercise in self-reduction. Walking in love, however ...

tVB 33: 1 HELPS MINISTRY TRAINING: FULFILLING YOUR PASTOR’S VISION

Some years ago, I was invited to speak at a Church’s Worker's Training Programme. One of the questions during the interactive session was, 'How does a church member help the Pastor fulfill his God-given vision?' I would like to share  with you what some simple steps to fulfilling your Pastor's vision. Step 1: Understand the Pastoral Office The pastoral office is one of the leadership ministries appointed in the Body of Christ by the Lord Jesus in Ephesians 4. The Pastor is the chief administrator of the local assembly. According to Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, “He is the one who gets the blame when things go wrong.” God has made him (or her) responsible for the well being of the church community. This responsibility applies to both pioneer and supporting pastors. Step 2: Change 'the' Pastor into ' My Pastor' People go to great extents to personalize their gifts and property. Anyone Personalizing anything not given to him is labeled a thief. You nat...
